the week-end shopping spree

Mr. D and I spent a good part of the week-end at Ikea. We spent a considerable amount of money, however did not walk out of the store with a single piece of furniture. Just stuff. How is it possible to spend several hundred dollars on stuff? Well, at Ikea, they get you with the small things at affordable prices. You pick up one, two, heck, one in every color. But then you get to the cash and realise they all add up in the end.

A sampling of our goods:

In more exciting news, we picked up the huge circular orange mirror in this picture:

It was a bit of a risk with a no-return policy given the size AND the color. I've never been a big orange person. In fact this is the first orange anything that I own. But as soon as it was hung, it was love. It's a little bit crazy love but love nevertheless.

  3. Love the mirror. Love its size, and anything else orange you want to throw my way. You guys in Montreal are so lucky. Ottawa Ikea sucks. I'm planning a trip out your way as I type this. BUT we're getting the biggest one (aparently) in all of Canada next year. And what do you know? It's going to be practically next door. Poor poor bank account.

  4. Poor bank account indeed!
And then my sister just emailed me, saying that IKEA was terrible in terms of the environment, corporate social responsibility and all that. Oops. I was not aware...
