4.10.11

Some days,

You just need to go ahead and order a couple of pizzas for dinner. Today was one of the days.
I spent the afternoon observing in the Burn Unit at the hospital I am at right now, and it was pretty awesome. Picture a bunch a young guys cracking jokes while getting scar massage and all sorts of other hand and upper extremity therapy. Good times.

In other news, Fall has pretty much arrived, meaning that the Haramaki Love home office has been in busy bee mode filling orders. Here on the home-front we've also pulled out our winter comforter, merino sweaters and little moccasins. Boo with a side of I love Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Thanks Bess!

Bess over at English Muffin gave us some props this week.
Not to mention a very sweet set of photos.
We couldn't be happier that she is expecting!

my name is julia and i am a bad blogger

I happen to be one of those people who tends to be inconsistent with some things and overly consistent with others. My days are like snowflakes, no two are alike, and yet there are things that I prioritize as much as possible: family, friends, favorite TV shows, and housework. However, when it comes to exercising, reading, blogging, tweeting, cooking, eating well, having a schedule, I am a little all over the place. And my business falls someplace in the middle.

So, at most times, my house will be pretty clean with everything in it's place, but my fridge might be completely empty and you'll find me eating toast all day. Or I will have caught up on every single possible TV show at the expense of exercise and getting to bed at a decent hour.

So apologies for being absent, and right now, I'm back. In recent news:

- wrapping up my master's project cooking group, which has been fun

- planning our honeymoon, at last!
- enjoying country time and lots of fun summer times with friends
- our nephew's birthday present by the super talented Bess of English Muffin

- some house tweaking, as always
- celebrated our 1-year anniversary, notice the we-are-weary-but-survived-a-year-crazy-look in our eyes?

FAIT ICI

A few weeks ago, Lindsay of Fait Ici contacted me about having Haramaki Love in her shop. And I did what I always do before entering into a relationship with a new store: my homework. I was delighted to discover such a nice concept. Fait Ici offers local, organic products and produce, as well as delicious food on its sweet terrace. I knew we would be a great match.

When I finally showed up last week, haramakis in hand, I was instantly smitten by the shop's beautiful merchandising (Lindsay is a graphic designer), the smell of home-made mac n' cheese and of course the warm welcome of Lindsay herself.

If you're in town, you should definitely check it out!

Finally, a FB page

3 years down the line, I decided to create a Facebook page. On a Saturday morning, on a whim, sitting in my Zanzibar flat after a very late night at an African nightclub, and drinking vanilla coffee. Hope you like it :)

happy 2010

Apologies for being MIA this past while, the end of the semester + the holiday haramaki madness meant blogging took a backseat I'm afraid. But we're back!

I'm also very happy to introduce our new UK partner for Haramaki Love: Nukunuku
If you're in the UK, check it out!

And here's to the happiest of 2010 to all.

back to blogging + mr. site

With summer here at last, blogging has been a little difficult.
But we are committed to get back into the swing of things over here at HL!

Have you heard of Mr. Site? It's the brilliant program that I designed our website with.
I happen to be featured on their website which I discovered the other day, almost by accident. It's always weird when you open a web page and see your face right on it.

Haramaki Love @ Lyne St-Roch Yoga Studios

Are you a yogini?
Turns out haramaki is one of the best yoga accessories.. ever. Great for eliminating the gap between tops and bottoms. Especially useful in downward dog!
Also lovely in shavasana to keep your body warm as it cools down. Pull on or strip off if you get a little too hot.

Haramaki Love recently started selling at the boutique at Lyne St-Roch Yoga Studios here in Montreal, touted as one of the best in the city.
