I got lucky

You know when you are shopping a mere 5 days before a special occasion because you are convinced you have not a single thing to wear? That was my situation for an upcoming event. So in a bit of a frenzy, I did the rounds: FCUK, Club Monaco, Zara, H&M, Banana Republic. And found nada. Nothing. Zilch.

I tried on the following, among many others:

The first was just plain awful and sac-like, the second too sequin-y, and the third, well, I rather show you the back only because frankly that was the only decent aspect of the thing.

And just as I was about to give up and wear this again, I noticed BCBG across the street! And walked in. (FYI: for the very first time ever.) And you know what I found? An amazingly helpful and knowledgeable SALESPERSON. How rare is that nowadays? We became instant friends, and giggled like schoolgirls as I tried on 10 dresses, hesitated between two for a good 15 minutes, and then finally chose this:


And I couldn't be happier. Although interestingly, the photo itself is the worst of the lot. Go figure.
