Finally, [warning: this post is beauty-related]

A facial wipe that I like. I have tried every single facial cleansing wipe I have come across, with not a whole lot of success (read: not the best cleansing action, and skin not so happy about it).

While shopping at the Cheapo Depo (as we like to call it) on our camping trip, I discovered Blûm Naturals.

And let me say, these Organic towelettes are rocking my world. Especially with planes/trains/heat.

I picked up these for Sensitive skin, and these with tea tree oil.

When I was a young girl,

my mum’s secretary told me that getting her nails done was like wearing high heels. I may have been little, but I wasn’t naïve. I understood completely, and have to admit that I am happy Fall is here for colors like these:

Essie's Fall 2010 Collection

And of course these classics:

Essie's Fishnet Stockings, Chanel's Rouge Noir, and OPI's You Don't Know Jacques

YSL Matt Touch

I splurged on Yves Saint Laurent's Matt Touch last week and although it worked as a good foundation primer and reduced shine, all those silicones just clogged my pores. Gross.
I chose it based on the amazing reviews it received on Makeup Alley, but alas, this one is going straight back to where it came from.

Speaking of Laura Mercier's flawless face..

I simply cannot live without her secret camouflage concealer. It is a little hard to manipulate at first and requires a brush to apply, but nothing covers like this baby does.

Foundation primer

Many makeup artists will say that an even, smooth complexion is the most important part of a made-up face. Entering: the foundation primer, meant to smooth out skin tone, tone down redness, and most importantly, make makeup stay on all day without fading.

I've been on the lookout for a great one for the past little while, and after trying Smashbox, Laura Mercier and Nars, am not 100% convinced - but if I had to choose one, it would be the LM one. I just love her flawless face collection.

want shiny hair? egg bomb it!

I recently gave the 'egg bomb' a try, a special hair treatment I discovered on my beloved Makeup Alley. The recipe says to leave it on for 30 minutes, but I got caught on a business call and an hour later I was still beehived into this concoction. But the egg didn't cook, and once washed and dried, my hair is shiny and soft and healthier looking that it has been in a long time!

Here's the recipe:
Whisk together 2 tablespoons olive oil and 1 teaspoon honey. In a separate bowl, beat the yolk of one egg. Mix the oil/honey emulsion with the egg and saturate your hair. Since I have a lot of long hair, I doubled the recipe--that made the perfect amount to completely saturate my hair. Leave the whole mixture on for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, rinse in cool water; then shampoo and condition as usual.
